· Established an internationally reputed Bariatric Surgery in Homerton University Hospital in 2003
· Served BOMSS council for 5 years from 2014.
· Is adviser to NICE guidelines for almost 10 years
· Appraiser of the Bariatric Fellowships for getting approval from the Royal college of surgeons of England – Approved 7 of them and also for some other surgical fellowships
· Was Consultant Surgeon at Homerton University Hospital and The Royal London Hospital (NHS) until 2017.
· Appointed Professor and Head of the department of surgery in Deccan Medical college, Hyderabad, India in December 1994

LAPAROSCOPIC WORK:
· Closely associated with Oliver McAnena in developing advanced laparoscopic work at the Royal London Hospital from 1991 – ’93; included oesophagectomy, colectomy, rectopexy, hiatus hernia repair, hysterectomy, oophorectomy etc.
· Was involved in conducting the first laparoscopic colorectal surgery course with Oliver McAnena and Norman Williams in 1993 in Royal London Hospital
· Attended various Laparoscopic courses/conferences since then.
· Conducted a number of workshops/conferences in laparoscopic surgery in India from 1994 onwards.
· Demonstrated live Laparoscopic repair of Hiatus hernia with Fundoplication for heartburn/hiatus hernia to Royal College of Surgeons auditorium from Royal London hospital operating theatre in 1998 & 1999 and locally at other times.
· Trained quite a number of surgeons in Laparoscopic surgery
· Helped other surgeons to perform hysterectomy or oophorectomy or nephrectomy in their respective fields.
· Performed a number of laparoscopic surgeries – Hernia Repair, cholecystectomy, Fundoplication, colectomy, closure perforated ulcers, appendicectomy, etc.
OBESITY / BARIATRIC / WEIGHTLOSS SURGERY WORK:
· Performed first Laparoscopic gastric banding in 1998.
· Demonstrated Laparoscopic gastric banding in Madras, India in Jan 2004. Has been teaching laparoscopic obesity surgery since then in Hyderabad.
· Attended Bariatric centres in France, Belgium, Holland & USA/ workshops/conferences in 2004 & 2005. Improved technique by spending some time with Leading Bariatric Surgeons In US – Prof Michel Gagner in New York and Prof Kelvin Higa in Fresno, California in 2005.
· Regularly attends and presents the work in International and national Obesity conferences. Demonstrated surgeries live in the conferences.
· Regularly performs all aspects of obesity surgery after careful evaluation in a multi-disciplinary set up. Performs 5 Lap Gastric Bypasses/Duodenal switches (was performing 10) and 1-3 Lap Sleeve Gastrectomies per week.
· Trained a lot of surgeons in Bariatric surgery in UK
CONDUCTED 7 HOMERTON BARIATRIC TRAINING COURSES IN LONDON until 2017:
· Gave talks on various surgeries, demonstrated the surgery live to the trainees – Sleeve Gastrectomy, gastric bypass and Duodenal Switch.
